R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Weiland Road, County Highway 73, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 605 ILCS 5/5-105, the County Board, by resolution, may transfer road jurisdiction to another highway authority upon the approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, with this jurisdictional transfer, which shall be effective upon the Illinois Department of Transportation’s approval, Lake County is removing the portion of Weiland Road, from Lake Cook Road southwesterly 0.05 miles to the Lake-Cook County Line, from the Lake County Highway System; and
WHEREAS, this jurisdictional transfer is part of the Cook County improvement of Lake Cook Road, from Raupp Boulevard to Hastings Lane; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and Cook County are desirous of entering an agreement stating the terms and conditions for the jurisdictional transfer of Weiland Road, from Lake Cook Road southwesterly 0.05 miles to the Lake-Cook County Line, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer are hereby authorized and directed to process and execute all agreements with Cook County for the jurisdictional transfer of Weiland Road, from Lake Cook Road southwesterly 0.05 miles to the Lake-Cook County Line and as required by the Illinois Department of Transportation, and such authority shall include any amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said jurisdictional transfer is effective upon the Illinois Department of Transportation’s approval.
