The Department of Human Services, SFY17 Substance Abuse Prevention Program (SAPP) Grant Award was increased by $57,499 for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY17 is $57,499. These funds are for implementing the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) that is a structured planning process utilizing a data driven approach developed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association (SAMHSA). These funds offset existing staff, program supplies, consultants, advertising, printing and travel.

The Illinois Department of Public Health, HIV/AIDS Quality of Life new Grant Award of $75,000 for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 20, 2017. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY17 is $75,000. These funds will be used to support HIV prevention and treatment engagement services for people living with HIV Disease by making grants to public or private entities in Illinois that serve people living with HIV Disease and/or the highest at-risk populations for acquiring HIV infection.

The Illinois Department of Public Health, SFY17 Cities Readiness Initiative Grant Award was increased in the amount of $14,792 for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY17 is $14,792. The additional funding will go towards the purchase of Open and Closed POD supplies and MRC support supplies.

The Illinois Department of Public Health, SFY17 Public Health Emergency Preparedness Grant Award was increased in the amount of $65,937 for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY17 is $65,937. The additional funding will support the purchase of medication for the Emergency Stockpile, provide training supplies, and maintain Emergency Management equipment for LCHD/EMA.
