Resolution recognizing April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, April is National Child Abuse Prevention month; and
WHEREAS, created in 2011 to keep children safe, Blue Kids Lake County promotes public awareness of child abuse through the creation and display of Blue Kids signs throughout the County during the month of April and by providing educational material on its website; and
WHEREAS, the organization engages the Lake County community to recognize the positive impact people can have on children’s lives;
WHEREAS, there are many social service organizations in Lake County, as well as park districts, libraries, exchange and rotary clubs, municipal and civic organizations, and private citizens that have partnered with Blue Kids Lake County to prevent child abuse; and
WHEREAS, Blue Kids Lake County was honored in 2013 with the Prevent Child Abuse Illinois’ Community Award for the northern region for its campaign in raising public awareness and providing education to prevent child abuse.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that April be recognized as National Child Abuse Prevention Month; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lake County Board does hereby thank Blue Kids Lake County for the work it does to prevent child abuse and urge all residents to recognize the many contributions of this organization.
