The Illinois Department of Human Services has awarded the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) a grant in the amount of $71,460.  The budget period is December 5, 2016-June 30th, 2017.  The project will expand and strengthen LCHD/CHC’s existing Naloxone distribution program.  Grant funds will be used to support a full-time project coordinator to purchase Naloxone for distribution in the county and to support training, awareness and engagement efforts.  The project period is five years with LCHD/CHC to receive $122,500 in each subsequent year (award was pro-rated for year one).  As part of this grant, LCHD/CHC will offset $5,876 in existing salaries and benefits for staff contributing to data collection, reporting and evaluation in year one.  LCHD/CHC will offset $17,500 in existing salaries and benefits in each subsequent grant year

To approve the grant funding of $71,460 from the Illinois Department of Human Services to support Naloxone distribution, awareness and engagement efforts in the county.
