Staff Summary

                     Darrell Road and Bonner Road Resurfacing Phase II: Consultant Agreement and Appropriation.

                     Darrell Road, from Illinois 176 to South of Burnett Road, and Bonner Road, from Darrell Road to US Route 12/Illinois Route 59, will be resurfaced.

                     These resurfacing improvements have been identified within the County’s pavement management system and are included in the Highway Improvement Program.

                     An engineering consultant firm will be used for the Phase II design engineering for this improvement.

                     In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the recommended firm is Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, Darrell Road, County Highway 44, and Bonner Road, County Highway 61, are designated routes on the County highway system; and

 

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Darrell Road, from Illinois 176 to South of Burnett Road, and Bonner Road, from Darrell Road to US Route 12/Illinois Route 59, are resurfaced; and

 

WHEREAS, it is recommended that an engineering consulting firm be employed to provide Phase II design engineering services; and

 

WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and

 

WHEREAS, Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase II design engineering services.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase II design engineering services at a maximum cost of services described as $168,797.54, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, an agreement for engineering consultant services between Lake County and Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, for the resurfacing of Darrell Road, from Illinois 176 to South of Burnett Road, and Bonner Road, from Darrell Road to US Route 12/Illinois Route 59, a draft copy of which is attached hereto, and such authorization shall include any necessary subsequent amendments.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation of $205,000 of Matching Tax funds for these engineering services be authorized, and designated as Section 17-00999-29-RS.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations provided.
