Body
The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center began negotiations in February 2015 with the Animal Care and Control bargaining unit. The collective bargaining representative for the Animal Care and Control employees is the Illinois Council of Police.

Attached is the full Labor Agreement between the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (Employer) and the Animal Care and Control (Bargaining Unit). Also, attached is a summary version which includes the comparison of our non-union employees, our newly formed union employees, and the Maintenance union employees. Only the Articles that reflect a difference from our non-union staff are shown in the summary chart.

The following job classifications are represented in the bargaining unit: Warden, Receptionist, Animal Bite Report Processor, and Kennel Technician. All other Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center Employees are excluded from the bargaining unit.

The provisions of the labor agreement are binding on both sides, with a mutually acceptable time period of (from time of signing) through November 30, 2018, and are enforceable through procedures such as the grievance procedure, arbitration, and the National Labor Relations Board.

The purpose of this Agreement is to provide for an orderly collective bargaining relationship between the Employer and the Union representing employees in the bargaining unit, and to make clear the basic terms upon which such relationship depends. It is the intent of both the Employer and the Union to work together to provide and maintain satisfactory terms and conditions of employment, and to prevent grievances relating to employees' wages, hours, and working conditions.
