Staff Summary
* The East Main Pump Station, was originally constructed in 1980. Located in the Northwest sewer system, the pump station is one of the County's largest wastewater pump stations with an average daily flow of four million gallons per day. It accepts flow from Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights, Round Lake Park, Hainesville, Lake Villa and Lakes Region Sanitary District and transmits it to the Northwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility in Fox Lake.
* This project will include the replacement of pumps, electrical and motor control equipment, upgrades to energy efficient lighting, HVAC and roof replacement.
* An invitation to bid was extended to 10 vendors and sealed bids were received from three local and three non-local contractors ranging from a total of $2,374,200 to $2,596,000.
* IHC Construction Companies LLC,of Elgin, Illinois was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who best meets the needs of the County in the amount of $2,358,726.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains several pump stations throughout the County including the East Main Pump Station in the Northwest Lake Facilities Planning area; and

WHEREAS, the East Main Pump Station has been in continuous service since 1980 and replacement of the electrical and mechanical equipment is required to extend the service life of the facility; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the East Main Pump Station Improvements Project; and

WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to 10 contractors; and

WHEREAS, six sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Friday, November 22, ...
