Joint resolution authorizing execution of an agreement with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd., of Rosemont, Illinois, in the amount of $145,974 for construction engineering services for the East Main Pump Station Project.
Staff Summary
* The East Main Pump Station is a major wastewater pumping facility and a key component of the northwest sanitary sewer collection system. It has been in continuous service for over 35 years.
* Major mechanical and electrical equipment at the facility (pumps, motor control center, valves, and electrical systems) will be replaced and upgraded to ensure future, continuous safe operation.
* Engineering construction services are needed for review of shop drawings, field inspections and to resolve field conditions with the general contractor to ensure that proper replacements, repairs and upgrades are performed in compliance with the plans and specifications.
* Lake County has a prior satisfactory relationship with Christopher B. Burke, Ltd., of Rosemont, Illinois and these services are in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance and the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns, operates and maintains several pump stations throughout the County including the East Main Pump Station in the Northwest Lake Facilities Planning area; and
WHEREAS, the East Main Pump Station has been in continuous service for over 35 years and improvements and upgrades are necessary to provide service to our customers and the communities within the facilities planning area; and
WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this project, the County requires construction engineering related services from a firm qualified in this type of work; and
