RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a federal TAA grant totaling $471,781.76 to the Lake County Workforce Development Department; and,
WHEREAS, this grant is for the program period of October 1, 2016, through September 30, 2017; and
WHEREAS, this funding covers tuition and related training expenses and payment processing expenses for workers impacted from multiple plant closings and lay-offs eligible under the TAA act; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation of $471,781.76 is requested to allocate these funds into the Workforce Development Department’s county fiscal year 2017 budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a CFY’16 emergency appropriation in the amount of $471,781.76, for the Workforce Development Department, is hereby approved and that the TAA grant be accepted.
