Approval of $5,000 in additional funding from the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County to support the Round Lake Area Student Health and Wellness Center.
On November 21, 2016, the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County (HFNLC) awarded the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) a total of $75,000 in funding to support the Round Lake Area Student Health and Wellness Center (aka, school-based health center). This was the 4th year of consecutive funding provided by the HFNLC and, in anticipation of continued funding, $70,000 has already been included in the fiscal year 2017 budget.

The additional $5,000 was included at the request of the HFNLC. Representatives from HFNLC who serve on the Advisory Council for the Round Lake Area Student Health and Wellness Center were made aware of the challenges occurring at the site, including low patient volume and difficulties coordinating with the school, and recommended bringing back an external consultant to provide additional input on operations. The grant period for this award is November 21, 2016-November 20, 2017.

The BFPC program therefore has a total budget of $120,000 ...
