Staff Summary

                     The Treasurer’s implementation of the Tyler Tax software system includes a Software as a Service (SaaS) Hosting Fee that was not included as part of the fiscal (FY) 2017 budget.

                     There is a need for an emergency appropriation in the amount of $23,445 to fund this cost and funds are available in the Tax Sale Automation Fund.

                     An emergency appropriation in the total amount of $23,445 is being requested.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, the Treasurer’s fiscal year (FY) 2017 budget did not anticipate Software as a Service (SaaS) fees when the software is still in implementation phase, and as a result additional funds are required; and

 

WHEREAS, the amount budgeted for the tax sale in FY 2017 is not sufficient to cover the cost of the SaaS fee, and an additional $23,445 is needed to cover the cost of the second sale; and

 

WHEREAS, the Tax Sale Automation fund has a fund balance of $707,989.69 as of December 27, 2016 and is projected to end the fiscal year with a fund balance of approximately $700,000 which is sufficient to cover the cost.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the following emergency appropriation of $23,445 shall be made to the following expense account in the Tax Sale Automation fund: 266-2010010-71230-000-000-000-00000.
