RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, said roadside safety check campaigns held in FY2015 - 2016 have led to a total of 1,405 citations being issued, 325 of those citations were seat belt violations and 50 Driving Under the Influence (DUI) arrests; and,
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff's Office believes that continuing to conduct these traffic enforcement campaigns in FY2016 - 2017 will continue to keep the roadways safe; and,
WHEREAS, said grants will fund the overtime costs associated with conducting these traffic enforcement campaigns.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Lake County Sheriff's Office accept the Illinois Department of Transportation STEP Grant and authorize the Emergency Appropriation in the amount of $102,243.20.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the grant revenue in the amount of $102,243.20 from the Illinois Department of Transportation be deposited into account #101- 3001110-45020.
