R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County PASSAGE is a cooperative initiative of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Lake County to implement an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in Lake County; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and the State of Illinois believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if traffic signals situated along Illinois Route 120, from Illinois Route 134 to U.S. Route 45, could be modernized and interconnected with Lake County PASSAGE and the intersection of Illinois Route 120 at Hainesville Road could be widened, resurfaced and channelized; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement for the County’s share of the above proposed improvement, a draft copy of which is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement, and any subsequent amendments thereto, pertaining to the financing of the above named improvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is appropriated $45,000 of ¼% Sales Tax funds for Transportation funds for the County’s share of this improvement, and designated as Section 12-00999-27-TL and State Job Number C-91-401-13.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to IDOT for their approval and final processing.
