• The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WI0A) formula grant funds, for Program Year 2016, allocated to the Lake County Workforce Development Department, will be reduced by $605,615 for a total grant of $4,187,816.
• The WIOA formula funds include funding for youth, adults, dislocated worker, and incumbent worker programs.
• The WIOA formula grant funds have a grant life from July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2018.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce has provided a Program Year 2016 grant under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to the Lake County Workforce Development Department which contains a reduction of $605,615 from the budgeted allocation included in the County FY2016 budget; and
WHEREAS, the total WIOA Formula Grant for Lake County Workforce Development is $4,187,816; and
WHEREAS, the grant is for July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2018, and will be used to provide funding for youth, adults, dislocated workers, and incumbent worker programs; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to approve a reduction in the Workforce Development Department appropriation of $605,615 and to authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a reduction in the Workforce Development Department appropriation of $605,615 is hereby approved and that the Workforce Investment Act Grant in the amount of $4,187,816 be accepted.
