Staff Summary
* A VOM program has been a priority for the Lake County Juvenile Justice Council and the State's Attorney's Office for several years, addressing the goals of reducing juvenile recidivism and assuring offender accountability.
* The VOM funding began in 2010 and has been renewed each year.
* This renewal is for the performance period of July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017.
* The program is 90 percent funded by the grant in the amount of $39,231, and a 10 percent cash match in the amount of $4,359, for total program funding of $43,590; no matching funds are being requested from the County's general fund, but are being provided from local partners or the State's Attorney's Money Laundering Forfeiture Fund.
* The program supports one part-time coordinator to provide a neutral party for the facilitation of the program. The coordinator is contracted to minimize costs. The program will also fund supplies to support the program.
