Resolution approving the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Four-Year Local Plan, Memorandum of Understanding for One Stop Center Operations and the Northeast Region Plan, and authorizing the execution of all necessary correspondence to distribute these Plans to the Illinois Department of Commerce.

* The development and submission of several required planning compliance documents is a necessary component to receive U.S. Department of Labor Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding, as distributed by the Illinois Department of Commerce.
* Information on the Four-Year Local Plan, the Memorandum of Understanding for One Stop Center Operations and the Northeast Region Plan was provided to the Health and Community Services Committee at its June 7, 2016 meeting.
* This resolution approves the Four-Year Local Plan, Memorandum of Understanding for One Stop Center Operations and the Northeast Region Plan, as reviewed and approved by the Lake County Workforce Development Board (LCWDB).
* The Lake County Board Chairman, as Chief Elected Official (CEO) for the local workforce area, is a required signatory. This resolution would authorize the County Board Chairman/CEO to execute the necessary documents to submit to the State of Illinois.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act requires that local workforce development areas develop and submit workforce compliance plans in order for the local workforce development area to receive annual federal workforce funding allocations, as distributed through their State workforce agency ; and

WHEREAS, Lake County has been designated as a local workforce development area by the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Lake County is required to submit workforce compliance plans including a Four-Year Local Plan and a Memorandum of Understanding for One Stop Center Operations; and
