                     Miller Road, at U,S, Route 12, Intersection Improvement: Consultant Agreement and Appropriation.

                     Miller Road, at the intersection of U.S. Route 12, will be improved by adding left turn lanes and traffic signal modifications.

                     A consulting engineering firm will be employed to provide Phase II design engineering services.

                     Using the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the selected, and recommended, consultant is Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services of $292,165.67.

                     This resolution authorizes an agreement with Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, and appropriates $355,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services. 

 

Body

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, Miller Road, County Highway 2, is a designated route on the County highway system; and

 

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Miller Road, at U.S. Route 12, could be improved by adding left turn lanes and traffic signal modifications; and

 

WHEREAS, it is recommended that a consulting engineering firm be employed to provide Phase II design engineering services; and

 

WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and

 

WHEREAS, Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase II design engineering services.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase II design engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, an agreement for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Bollinger, Lach & Associates, Inc., Itasca, Illinois, a draft copy of which is attached hereto, and such authorization shall include any necessary subsequent amendments.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $355,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services, and designated as Section 15-00118-12-CH.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations provided.
