• Pursuant to State Statute, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials no less than six months before those officials take office.
• At this time, it is necessary to set the compensation for the Chair of the County Board for the years 2017 and 2018.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the salaries of the Members of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, the County Board may establish additional compensation for the Chair of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall set the compensation for elected officials no less than six months before those officials take office; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the compensation for the Chair of the County Board for the years 2017 and 2018; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of your Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective elected office holders be approved by this County Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the annual salary for the Chair of the County Board shall be as follows for the years indicated:
for the year 2017: $ 88,187 per annum
for the year 2018: $ 90,391 per annum
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the County Board shall be provided an auto allowance as follows for the years indicated:
for the year 2017: $ 7,000 per annum
for the year 2018: $ 7,000 per annum
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the County Board shall be provided a stipend for serving as the Liquor Commissioner as follows for the years indicated:
for the year 2017: $ 3,000 per annum
for the year 2018: $ 3,000 per annum
