Staff Summary
* The County Chief Information Technology Officer (CIO) position has been vacant since October 1, 2015 and Lora Nordstrom has been serving as the Interim CIO.
* A selection committee consisting of representatives from various County departments interviewed three candidates, selecting Lora Nordstrom as the best candidate.
* The County Administrator consulted with the Chairman of the Board and the Chair of the Finance and Administrative Committee and hereby recommends that the County Board appoint Lora Nordstrom as the Chief Information Technology Officer.
* Pending appointment by the County Board, Mrs. Nordstrom has accepted the offer.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Lake County recently completed an operations evaluation of the Information Technology Department, performed capacity and costing modeling, and has drafted a 5 year Road Map for technology in Lake County; and

WHEREAS, this work was accomplished due to the efforts of the former director and his leadership team; and

WHEREAS, Lake County has a focus on succession planning and development of leaders at all levels of the County; and

WHEREAS, through consultation with Kirk Talbott, Huron Consultants and the County Administrator it was determined that Lake County currently had qualified internal candidates; and

WHEREAS, it was determined that a high priority was to maintain consistency in leadership toward the furtherance of the continued implementation of the many recommendations in the operational evaluation, capacity and cost model, and 5 years Road Map; and

WHEREAS, posted the position internally and 4 applications and credentials were received and reviewed by a multi-departmental panel; and

WHEREAS, following the initial screening process, the County Administrator formed a selection committee representing multiple county department...
