Staff Summary

                     Hunt Club Road at Illinois Route 132 Intersection Improvement: Consultant Agreement and Appropriation.

                     Consulting engineering services will be utilized for the preliminary engineering services for the Hunt Club Road at Illinois Route 132 intersection improvement.

                     This project will consist of an engineering study to identify improvements to enhance safety at Hunt Club Road at Illinois Route 132.

                     Using the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the selected and recommended consultant is Stanley Consultants, Chicago, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services of $370,173.60.

                     This resolution appropriates $445,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, Hunt Club Road, County Highway 29, is a designated route on the County highway system; and

 

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of Hunt Club Road at Illinois Route 132 could be improved; and

 

WHEREAS, Phase I, preliminary engineering, studies are required for the proposed Hunt Club Road at Illinois Route 132 improvement; and

 

WHEREAS, it is recommended that a consulting engineering firm be employed to provide Phase I preliminary engineering services; and

 

WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and

 

WHEREAS, Stanley Consultants, Chicago, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase I preliminary engineering services.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Stanley Consultants, Chicago, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase I preliminary engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, an agreement for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Stanley Consultants, Chicago, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services of $370,173.60, a draft copy of which is attached hereto, and such authorization shall include any necessary subsequent amendments.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $445,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services, and designated as Section 14-00095-17-CH.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations provided.
