Staff Summary
* The Public Works Maintenance Facility was originally constructed in 1977, expanded with an additional bay area in 2003, and is now in need of refurbishment and expansion.
* This proposed project includes replacement of the existing roofing system and existing garage doors, the addition of two garage bays, refurbishment of the locker room areas to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the addition of a training room.
* The County extended invitations to seven contractors and bids were received from four contractors.
* Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Boller Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $1,220,500.
* Boller Construction Company, Inc. has performed many projects for the County for several years to the satisfaction of Lake County.
* This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing Agent to execute a contract with Boller Construction Company, Inc. of Waukegan, Illinois, in the about of $1,220,500.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns and operates various water and sanitary sewer systems throughout Lake County; and
WHEREAS, maintenance of the systems is centralized at the Public Works Department facility in Libertyville; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Rules of this County Board bids were called for publication for the Public Works Maintenance Facility Addition and Renovations Project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to seven contractors; and
WHEREAS, four sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.; and
