Staff Summary

                     Illinois Route 120, from Knight Avenue to Illinois Route 131; Phase II: Consultant Agreement and Appropriation.

                     Illinois Route 120, from Knight Avenue to Illinois Route 131, needs to be reconstructed and widened with a center turn lane and sidewalk.

                     A consulting engineering firm will be utilized to provide Phase II design engineering services for this improvement.

                     In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the selected and recommended consultant is Patrick Engineering, Inc., Lisle, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services of $319,389.96.

                     The resolution also appropriates $385,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services.

 

Body

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Illinois Route 120, from Knight Avenue to Illinois Route 131, could be reconstructed and improved; and 

 

WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide Phase II design engineering services for said proposed reconstruction and widening; and

 

WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and

 

WHEREAS, Patrick Engineering, Inc., Lisle, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase II design engineering services.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Patrick Engineering, Inc., Lisle, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase II design engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement and any amendments, a draft copy of said agreement attached hereto, for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Patrick Engineering, Inc., Lisle, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services of $319,389.96. 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $385,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services, and designated as Section 12-00999-31-WR.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further County Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
