Staff Summary
* On behalf of the Metro Suburban Region, Will County applied for and was awarded a $2.02 million dollar Workforce Innovation Grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to deliver the Accelerated Training for Illinois Manufacturing (ATIM) program with regional partnerships representing Lake, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, McHenry, and Will counties.
* The Accelerated Training for Illinois Manufacturing (ATIM) program was designed to address the mismatch of worker skills and available jobs in the manufacturing industry.
* Workforce Development has enrolled 50 eligible adults/dislocated workers in training programs and on the job training with employers. The additional grant funds allowed for the on the job trainings to be completed through this program.
* The total award amount is $480,000 and the program timeframe was June 1, 2013 to August 31, 2015.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Will County received a Workforce Innovation Grant on behalf of the Metro Suburban Region and has awarded a subcontractor agreement to Lake County Workforce Development Department to deliver the Accelerated Training for Illinois Manufacturing (ATIM) program; and
WHEREAS, Workforce Development has been awarded additional funds of $30,000 for a total budget of $480,000; and
WHEREAS, , a CFY'15 emergency appropriation of $30,000 is requested to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department's county fiscal year 2015 budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a CFY'15 emergency appropriation in the amount of $30,000 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved.
