Staff Summary
* Electrical control systems are key components required to operate lift stations and motor control systems that run the southeast sanitary sewer collection system, many of which have been in continuous service for over 35 years.
* Current National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations require that electrical control systems be analyzed for potential electrical hazards and properly labeled to protect the health and safety of any persons operating are working on these electrical systems.
* Engineering consulting services are needed to analyze the existing electrical equipment, prepare one line electrical system plans, prepare a system electrical hazard report and, accordingly, label all electrical equipment.
* In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the recommended firm is Quality Power Systems of Madison, Wisconsin.
* This resolution authorizes execution of a professional services agreement with Quality Power Solutions of Madison, Wisconsin, in the amount of $109,142.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains several lift station and motor control electrical power systems serving the Southeast Lake Facilities Planning Area; and

WHEREAS, these electrical power systems are required to be analyzed for potential electrical arc flash hazard conditions and labeled per the latest NFPA 70E Risk Assessment regulations; and

WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this project, the County requires consulting related services from an engineering firm qualified in this type of engineering; and
