Ordinance amending a previous ordinance designating the voting sites assigned to four of the 415 precincts in Lake County Townships.
Staff Summary
• After reviewing voting sites for the March 15, 2016 General Primary Election and November 8, 2016 General Election, voting site changes are proposed to provide better voting site locations to those precincts affected either by a site that has requested to discontinue serving as a polling place due to parking and space limitations or by a site that will be under construction during the time of the elections.
• Re-assigns each precinct to an appropriate voting site which has sufficient parking and voting space as well as full accessibility for all voters.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Lake County has 415 voting precincts in 18 townships; and
WHEREAS, for Waukegan Township precincts 355 and 359, Greenwood School has requested to discontinue offering its location as a polling place; and
WHEREAS, for Vernon Township precinct 287 and West Deerfield Township precinct 390, Riverwoods Village Hall will be under construction during the 2016 Elections and temporarily unavailable to serve a polling site; and
WHEREAS, each said precinct is being relocated to a voting site which has sufficient parking and voting space as well as full accessibility for all voters; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, the attached “Exhibit A” sets forth the voting sites assigned to each of the affected precincts, which are identified by name and location.
