* The East Main Pump Station is a major wastewater pumping facility and is a key component of the northwest sanitary sewer collection system and has been in continuous service for over 35 years.
* Site evaluations performed by a consultant and the Lake County Public Works staff have determined that major equipment at the facility (pumps, motor control center, valves, sewage screens and electrical systems) need to be replaced and upgraded to ensure the future continuous safe operation of this pump station.
* Engineering design services are needed to develop plans and specifications in order to bid and complete the necessary repairs and upgrades.
* In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the recommended firm is Christopher B. Burke, Ltd., Rosemont, Illinois.
* This resolution authorizes execution of a professional services agreement with Christopher B. Burke, Ltd. in the amount of $93,100.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains the East Main Pump Station serving the Northwest Lake Facilities Planning Area; and

WHEREAS, the East Main Pump Station is in need of repair to provide safe transport of waste water flow to the Fox Lake Treatment Plant; and

WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this project, the County requires design related services from an engineering firm qualified in this type of engineering; and

WHEREAS, Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. is qualified to provide the specialized design related services for this project in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. Seq.: and
