Staff Summary
* The northwest 42 inch interceptor sewer along Wilson Road and Rollins Road is a key component of the northwest sanitary sewer collection system and has been in service for over 35 years.
* Sanitary sewer televising assessments completed by Lake County Public Works have confirmed that the 42 inch diameter sewer pipe, the sewer junction structure at the intersection of Wilson and Rollins Roads, and the junction structure at the Rollins Road force main discharge require repairs to improve reliability and extend service life.
* In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the recommended firm is Applied Technologies of Lake Villa, Illinois.
* This resolution authorizes execution of a professional services agreement with Applied Technologies, Inc. in the amount of $116,500.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains several sanitary sewer systems which include sanitary trunk mains, pump stations and force mains; and

WHEREAS, the 42 inch interceptor sewers and structures along Wilson Road and Rollins Road are in need of repair to provide safe transport of waste water flow from the East Main forcemain to the Fox Lake Treatment Plant; and

WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this project, the County requires design related services from an engineering firm qualified in this type of engineering; and

WHEREAS, Applied Technologies is qualified to provide the specialized design related services for this project in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
