RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for Masonry work for Lake County Courthouse Expansion Project; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from five vendors and opened at the Lake County Administrative Building, Waukegan, Illinois, on March 17, 2015, at 2 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, based on the criteria set forth in the Invitation to Bid; the staff evaluated all bid submittals and determined that the bid submitted by A Horn, Inc. in the amount of $1,717,600 is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for Lake County; and
WHEREAS, On April 9, 2013, the Lake County Board authorized a contract for Construction Manager at Risk Services with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the Lake County Courthouse Expansion Project with Clark Construction Group LLC of Chicago, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, On April 14, 2015, the Lake County Board authorized Clark Construction to proceed with the GMP for the construction of the Lake County Courthouse Expansion Project work described as the Core and Shell Work in the amount of $43,289,566 which includes the work to be performed by A Horn, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with A Horn, Inc. and further authorized to assign that contract to Clark Construction Group LLC of Chicago, Illinois for work described as Masonry work in the amount of $1,717,600.
