Title
Behavioral Health Services Methadone Bundled Rates - Caputa
Body
The Substance Abuse Program (SAP) in Behavioral Health Services has created a bundled rate for the methadone program. This rate will apply to clients whose income is over 200% of the national poverty level. This rate is broken into three groups, each with a different range of treatment visits. The fee for each client group was set at a level that covers the cost for the highest number of treatment visits within each group.
Client Group Fee per Visit Code Notes
1 $70 Meth-MT1 Visits for medication from 1x/month to 1x/week
2 $80 Meth-23 Visits for medication from 2x/week to 3x/week
3 $95 Meth-456 Visits for medication from 4x/week to 6x/week
The bundled rate approach is a new methodology, and as such these codes were not included in fee schedules previously approved by the Board of Health. The client visits in each group include the dosing of medication, individual or group counseling, and periodic medical doctor visits. The proposed fees will allow clients to receive treatment that meets the clinical needs of the clients and cover the costs of the program.
These fees will be added to the chargemaster fee schedule approved by the Board of Health on November 19, 2014.
Suggested Motion
To approve the Methadone Bundled Rate effective June 1, 2015 based upon the schedule presented above.
