·      Skokie Valley Bike Path Bridge: Phase I Consultant Agreement and Appropriation.
·      A consultant will be utilized to complete Phase I preliminary engineering services, which includes developing a project report for a new bridge to carry the Skokie Valley Bike Path over Lake Cook Road.
·      In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the selected and recommended firm is Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, for a cost of services described as $327,207.13.
·      This resolution appropriates $395,000 of County Bridge Tax funds.

R E S O L U T I O N
 
WHEREAS, the Phase I preliminary engineering services will include preparation of a project development report for a new bridge to carry the Skokie Valley Bike Path over Lake Cook Road; and
 
WHEREAS, this will be a joint project with the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways; and
 
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide said Phase I preliminary engineering services; and
 
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
 
WHEREAS, Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase I preliminary engineering services.
 
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase I preliminary engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement, and any amendments, for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, for a cost of services described as $327,207.13, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $395,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for these engineering services, and designated as Section 14-00265-01-BR.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation provided.
