Joint resolution providing notice to the Village of Green Oaks within the Southeast Central Facilities Planning Area of an adjustment in the Lake County wholesale sewer rates for wastewater services provided by the Village of Libertyville.
Staff Summary
* Under the terms of the agreement between the County and the Village of Libertyville there is a provision for the Village to adjust wastewater treatment plant charges to the County when there is a rate adjustment for Village users.
* The Village of Libertyville has increased the sewer rate charged to the County by $0.84, from $27.60 to $28.44 per residential customer equivalent (RCE), or $3.45 to $3.56, per 1,000 gallons.
* The Libertyville sewer increase will affect all users of the treatment facility including users within the Village of Green Oaks and unincorporated areas in Lake County.
* The Green Oaks sewer rate will increase from $33.52 to $34.36 per RCE.
* This resolution provides notice to the Village of Green Oaks of the Village of Libertyville's sewer user fee increase effective August 1, 2015.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns, operates and maintains numerous sanitary sewer systems, interceptor sewer systems and regional wastewater reclamation facilities throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, Lake County has entered into contractual Agreements for Sewage Disposal with several municipalities within the County; and
WHEREAS, these Agreements provide for adjustments in rates and charges of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Libertyville provides wholesale sewage treatment in the Southeast Central Facilities Planning Area and has increased their charges for sewage treatment; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the County to provide notice to the individual municipalities regarding any adjustment in the rates.
