* The East Main force main is a 5,300 foot 30-inch diameter pipeline, which is a key component of the northwest sanitary sewer collection system has been in continuous service for over 35 years.
* Non-destructive testing and televising has determined that the force main requires repairs to extend its reliability and service life.
* Design engineering services are needed to develop specifications to complete the necessary repairs.
* In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the recommended firm is Applied Technologies of Lake Villa, Illinois.
* This resolution authorizes execution of a professional services agreement with Applied Technologies. of Lake Villa, Illinois, in the amount of $66,900.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains several sanitary sewer systems which include sanitary trunk mains, pump stations and force mains; and
WHEREAS, the East Main Pump Station force main is in need of repair to provide safe transport of waste water flow from the East Main Pump station to the Fox Lake Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this project, the County requires design related services from an engineering firm qualified in this type of engineering; and
WHEREAS, Applied Technologies is qualified to provide the specialized design related services for this project in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, execution of an Agreement for Professional Services must be authorized by Resolution of this County Board.
