R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) participated in the joint procurement process for the acquisition of ice control salt for the winter season of 2014-2015; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that 16,000 tons of ice control salt will be required for the 2015-2016 winter season; and
WHEREAS, the contract for salt for LCDOT provided by Compass Minerals (North American Salt) for the 2014-2015 winter season, will be extended for the winter season of 2015-2016.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $1,490,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the acquisition of ice control salt for the winter season of 2015-2016 by said joint procurement, and designated as Section 16-00000-00-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013.
