Presentation on Draft Regulations for Unincorporated Land Activities of the Fox Waterway Agency:
Staff Summary
· The Fox Waterway Agency (FWA) has the statutory obligation to dredge channels within their area of service. As an ancillary activity, the FWA deposits the dredged material on nearby property and processes such nutrient-rich material for sale and shipment. The Planning, Building and Development Department has been in discussion with the FWA about the reasonable regulation of such land-based activities in the unincorporated area and is preparing draft regulations based on those discussions.
· Staff will introduce for Committee discussion a conceptual outline of regulations for FWA's land activities (both temporary and long-term staging and processing) in the unincorporated area and will further discuss staff's planned approach for future collaboration with FWA for site selection and public outreach.
