Resolution authorizing the execution of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150 as the exclusive representative of the Public Works Employees Bargaining Unit of Lake County.
Staff Summary
· The CBA shall be effective from December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2016.
· Under the award, wages will increase 2.75 percent on December 1, 2012, 2.85 percent on December 1, 2013, and 2.75 percent on December 1, 2014.
· Effective December 1, 2015, members of this collective bargaining unit will receive the same general wage increase as non-union employees.
· Wage increases for each year of the agreement will cost approximately $74,000 and the slotting will cost an additional $11,000.
· Effective December 1, 2013, employees will be slotted in a salary level on the Performance Wage Scale/Progress Matrix based upon position and certifications.
· Future advancement through the wage matrix will be based upon training, attaining certifications, and performance evaluation scores.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150 has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for Public Works employees of Lake County; and
WHEREAS, the Financial and Administrative Committee has reviewed and approved said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the Chairman of the Board and the Sheriff are hereby authorized to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement attached hereto and made a part of this resolution.
