Resolution authorizing the execution of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with Teamsters Local Union 700, as the exclusive representative of the Correctional Lieutenants Employees Bargaining Unit of the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Staff Summary
· The CBA shall be effective for a two year period from December 1, 2013 through November 30, 2015.
· Under the award, wages will increase 2.85 percent on December 1, 2013 and 2.95 percent on December 1, 2014.
· Effective June 1, 2014, employees will be placed on one of six steps in a pay scale.
· Wage increases for each year of the agreement will cost approximately $15,500; the step placement will cost an additional $8,573.
· Christmas Eve will become a fixed holiday and Election Day will be eliminated as a holiday.
· The CBA shall include a limited reopener for the parties to negotiate a provision that may allow members to join the Union's health and dental programs.
· The agreement with Teamsters Local Union 700 is an arbitrated award.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Teamsters Local Union 700 has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for Correctional Lieutenants employees of the Lake County Sheriff's Office; and
WHEREAS, the Financial and Administrative Committee has reviewed and approved said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the Chairman of the Board and the Sheriff are hereby authorized to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement attached hereto and made a part of this resolution.
