R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois, by and through its Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), proposes to improve Illinois Route 59, from Illinois Route 132 to Highwoods Drive including Petite Lake Road, by milling and resurfacing, intersection reconstruction, and traffic signal installation; and
WHEREAS, IDOT will utilize federal highway funding for this improvement; and
WHEREAS, the County portion of said improvement is the local share for the traffic signal modernization at Petite Lake Road; and
WHEREAS, IDOT and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement for said improvement, a draft copy of which is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement for the improvement of Illinois Route 59, from Illinois Route 132 to Highwoods Drive including Petite Lake Road, and such authorization shall include any subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk, and grant plan and specification approval to IDOT.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $25,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for this improvement, and designated as Section 15-00264-00-RS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
