Joint resolution appropriating $120,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for the 2015 Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) PASSAGE improvements, along various routes in Lake County, and designated as Section 15-00999-13-TL.

· 2015 ITS PASSAGE Network: Appropriation.
· The 2015 ITS Passage Network includes installing permanent count stations at a maximum of 10 locations throughout the County.
· The count stations will be able to provide continuous counts along a roadway 24 hours a day.
· This traffic data will be useful for numerous planning functions including tracking annual growth, looking at regional trends, and determining adequate factors to apply to Average Daily Traffic (ADT) counts which are usually taken during summer months.
· Before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of $120,000 of Matching Tax funds is necessary.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its PASSAGE Program, endeavors to interconnect traffic control signal systems situated throughout Lake County; and
WHEREAS, ITS Passage Network 2015 includes installing permanent count stations at a maximum of 10 locations throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, the count stations will be able to provide continuous data along a roadway 24 hours a day; and
WHEREAS, this traffic data will be useful for numerous planning functions including tracking annual growth, looking at regional trends, and determining adequate factors to apply to Average Daily Traffic (ADT) counts which are usually taken during summer months.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $120,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for the ITS Passage Field Network 2015, which includes installing permanent count stations at a maximum of 10 locations throughout the County, and designated as Section 15-00999-13-TL.
