Staff Summary
· There was a need to terminate Lake County's existing contract for collision repair services due to poor performance and quality issues.
· Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) requested assistance from the Purchasing Division to identify a responsible contractor who could provide emergency services for the remainder of the contract term to minimize serious disruption of government services.
· Allanson Auto Body of Mundelein, IL was one of five local firms that had submitted bids and has been vetted by LCDOT and Purchasing Division as a responsible vendor to provide continued service to Lake County.
· Pursuant to the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, emergency procurements are made when a threat exists to public health, welfare, or safety, or to prevent or minimize serious disruption of government services.
· Pursuant to Article 6, Section 103, the Director of Transportation submitted a written determination of the basis for the emergency and the certification that the selection of the contractor is appropriate.
· This contract authorizes the purchase of collision repair services with Allanson Auto Body of Mundelein, IL for a one year period in an estimated amount of $81,880.

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 6-103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, emergency procurement of collision repair services for Lake County; and
WHEREAS, there was a need to terminate Lake County's existing contract for collision services due to poor performance and quality issues; and
WHEREAS, Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) requested assistance from the Purchasing Division to identify a responsible contractor who could provide emergency services for the remainder of the contract term to minimize serious disruption of government services; and
WHEREAS, Allanson Auto Body of Mundelein, IL was one of five local firms that had submitted bids and has been vetted by LCDOT and Purchasing Division as a responsible vendor to provide continued service to Lake County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 6, Section 103, the Director of Transportation submitted a written determination of the basis for the emergency and the certification that the selection of the contractor is appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with Allanson Auto Body, for the emergency procurement of collision repair services in the estimated amount of $81,880, charged to Risk Dept. account #206-1440010-72180-000-000-000-00000.
