* This grant agreement No. FEMA-DR-4116-IL is provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), through the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), and provides funding for the purchase and demolition of nine structures throughout Lake County.
* The grant amount is $1,510,942, which will cover 75% of the project costs.
* The remaining 25% project costs will be in the form of cash and in-kind services provided by the local units of government and SMC.
* SMC will manage the grant project (acquisition and demolition of structures) and staff time expended for grant management is to be reimbursed.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) is undertaking a voluntary floodprone property buyout project through the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grants Program (HMGP) to purchase and demolish nine structures throughout Lake County which are subject to repetitive flooding; and
WHEREAS, the Stormwater Management Commission has entered into an agreement with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) to manage the entire grant project, through property appraisal to structure demolition and property restoration as perpetual open space; and
WHEREAS, the SMC has authorized staff time for grant management and technical services toward the cost of implementing the HMGP Grant; and
WHEREAS, the local units of government and SMC will provide the 25% local match in the form of cash and in-kind services for project costs.
