* The County maintains 165 traffic signals and various pieces of equipment which annually need to be replaced and upgraded.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, in order to reduce the consumption of electricity in traffic control signals and to reduce occurrences of "dark" traffic signal indications, the Division of Transportation (DOT) is undertaking a project to install LED and UPS at various signalized intersections throughout the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, the County maintains 165 traffic signals and various pieces of equipment, which annually need to be replaced and upgraded; and
WHEREAS, a survey of traffic control signals throughout the County highway system for said LED and UPS installation has been completed; and
WHEREAS, the installation of LED and UPS has been completed for 151 intersections, six will be in various construction projects in the next couple of years, and four are owned by municipalities under LCDOT maintenance.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $120,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the 2015 traffic signal equipment project to upgrade existing traffic signal heads to LED, and install UPS ...
