Staff Summary

·      In September 2014, the County Board adopted amendments to the Nuisance Ordinance authorizing the routine abatement of junk and debris on private property.

·      In its new abatement program, the Department has determined that this routine abatement mechanism is impractical in cases of larger accumulations of junk and debris and other materials.

·      The Department has drafted new amendments to the Ordinance classifying "non-customary outdoor storage" as a nuisance and authorizing the abatement thereof.
