Staff Summary
· O'Plaine Road at Kennedy Drive Construction: Appropriation.
· O'Plaine Road at Kennedy Drive will be improved with the removal of the intersection just south of Illinois Route 120.
· A new road connection to Kennedy Drive with an extension of West Avenue, will provide access to the subdivision.
· This improvement is included in the Division of Transportation's improvement program.
· Before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of $525,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds is necessary.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, O'Plaine Road, County Highway 38, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, Kennedy Drive intersects O'Plaine Road just south of Illinois Route 120; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of O'Plaine Road at Kennedy Drive could be removed in cooperation with the City of Waukegan; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates of costs for this improvement have been completed, and this improvement is now ready to proceed to contract letting; and
WHEREAS, before a construction letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $525,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for the construction improvement of O'Plaine Road at Kennedy Drive, and designated as Section 09-00109-06-CH.
