· This resolution authorizes the execution of a professional services agreement with Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services described as $1,197,363.11 and appropriates $1,440,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for this improvement.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Buffalo Grove Road, County Highway 16, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Buffalo Grove Road, from Illinois Route 22 to Deerfield Parkway, could be reconstructed and widened; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide Phase II design engineering services for said improvement; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase II design engineering services; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase II design engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement, a draft copy of said agreement attached hereto, for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., Vernon Hills, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services described as $1,197,363.11.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $1,440,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services, and designated as Section 11-00249-03-WR.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
