RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Substance Abuse and Mental Services Administration (SAMHSA), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has awarded Lake County a Behavioral Health Treatment Court Collaboratives (BHTCC) grant in the amount of $345,463; and

WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit operates various specialty courts; and

WHEREAS, the BHTCC grant is intended to enhance these courts; and

WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit will contract with the Northern Illinois Council on Substance Abuse, which was instrumental in writing the grant, and other partners to meet the four main goals of increasing stakeholder participation in the 19th Judicial Circuit Court to address the behavioral health needs of adults involved with the criminal justice system, enhancing the trauma-informed care of adults in Specialty Courts, improving the communication among BHTCC members in terms of resources, case management and referrals; and documenting outcomes; and
