Staff Summary
* The County has the need to design the installation of variable frequency drives for four central air handlers for the main the Courthouse, designing the replacement of multiple variable air volume boxes with Direct Digital Controls for the Sheriff's Administration office, designing the replacement of two air handlers with new A/C, force heat, and DDC for the Division of Transportation service maintenance office and break room, and the installation of air conditioning with DDC for data closets at multiple locations.
* In accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, a Statement of Interest was issued for six separate engineering projects.
* Responses were received on February 6, 2014 from 13 firms.
* Environmental Systems Design, Inc. was determined to be the most qualified firm to provide professional engineering services related to the mechanical improvements at the following locations: the main Courthouse, Sheriffs Administration Office and the Division of Transportation.
* This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing Agent to execute an Agreement for Professional Services with Environmental Systems Design, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois in the amount of $85,200.
