WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called the Abatement in the Courts Complex for Facility Operations; and

WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, an Invitation to Bid was extended to 25 vendors; and

WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from one local vendor and four non-local vendors and opened at the Central Permit Facility, Libertyville, Illinois, on March 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.; and

WHEREAS, Lake County is installing a new fire system and removing smoke doors in the Courts Building at the Lake County Administrative Building Complex in Waukegan, IL; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to remove the asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in order to install certain components of the new fire alarm system and to allow for the removal of the smoke doors; and
