R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Deerfield Road, County Highway 11, is a designated route on the County highway system; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois, acting by and through its Illinois Department of Transportation, IDOT, and Lake County believe it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Deerfield Road could be improved with the construction of a bike path to connect to the existing path at the southwest corner of Illinois Route 21/45 to the existing path west of the Des Plaines River; and

WHEREAS, Phase II design engineering services are required to utilize federal highway funds for the above-proposed improvements, and Phase II design engineering services were awarded to Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. by the Lake County Board on January 14, 2014; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement to utilize federal highway funds for the above proposed Phase II design engineering services, setting forth the terms and obligations to each agency, a draft of which is attached hereto.
