Staff Summary
* Well #6 provides water supply to the Pekara Water System that serves approximately 1,200 homes and some commercial properties in the unincorporated areas of Pekara, adjacent to the Village of Buffalo Grove.
* Public Works identified a premature well failure and emergency repairs were needed to ensure sufficient water supply to meet demand during peak water days for spring and summer months.
* Pursuant to the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, emergency procurements are made when a threat exists to public health, welfare, or safety, or to prevent or minimize serious disruption of government services.
* Pursuant to Article 6, Section 103, the Public Works Director submitted a written determination of the basis for the emergency and the certification that the selection of the contractor is appropriate.

Body
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 6-103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, emergency repairs were necessary to Well #6 for the Pekara Water System; and

WHEREAS, Public Works identified a premature well failure and emergency repairs were needed to ensure sufficient water supply to meet demand during peak water days for the spring and summer months; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent issued an emergency purchase order for the emergency repairs to Well #6 for the Pekara Water System; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Article 6, Section 103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the Public Works Director has certified that an emergency condition existed necessitating immediate action to prevent or minimize disruption of government services.
