Staff Summary
* The County's Taxation Advisory Group (TAG) is comprised of the County Clerk's Office, Chief County Assessment Office, Recorder of Deeds Office, County Treasurer's Office, GIS/Mapping Division and Information Technology Department.
* This group, which includes a representative from the township assessors in Lake County, coordinates the property tax process for the County.
* The property tax administration process is presently conducted through the use of multiple systems, which are reaching their end of life.
* The Recorder of Deeds currently utilizes the Cott Systems for recording documents; it is the intent of the Recorder to keep this solution and integrate with the procured system rather than replace.
* It is the desire of the County to ultimately procure the next generation property tax system; a tightly integrated property tax and CAMA solution and one that GIS ESRI tools will interface with effectively.
* The Request for Proposal (RFP) was developed and reviewed by an interdepartmental committee comprised of representatives from the County Clerk's Office, Chief County Assessment Office, County Treasurer's Office, GIS/Mapping Division and Information Technology Department.
* With the assistance of a consulting partner the County will review the current state of offerings, compare with best practices and make recommendations to improve County operations.
* The RFP was sent to 39 vendors with proposals received from seven non-local vendors; no local vendors submitted a proposal for this service.
